From November 2017 to June 2018, SIA “Smart Energy” carried out the construction of an observation tower, tourism and information infrastructure in the protected landscape area of Veclaicene, Alūksne district.
The new observation tower is located on the site of the former triangulation tower, which was dismantled during the works. In order to be able to access the construction site, the necessary area was deforested and an access road was built. The main constructions of the tower are made of reinforced concrete foundations, metal bearing structures, floor and staircase deck are made of welded grids, roof and facade frame grids are made of timber, bitumen shingle deck is used for roofing. A lightning protection system has also been created.
